1. MISTRESSES
You wouldn’t expect a drama series with this title to make it on the list of ‘TV Moms’. LOL.
Scandals aside, one of the characters who go by the name April (played by Rochelle Aytes) is a single mom raising a daughter who – despite the circumstances – is an exemplary young scholar. April was left by her now deceased husband who wasn’t all that faithful. She operates a shop selling household items (in funky and colorful designs) in order to raise her family because her husband left her penniless, with only full of lies.
However, April has not called it quits in the love department. She’s still on the quest for the right guy and in the last season, she apparently had fallen in love with a much younger man.
What I like about April:
She’s
- Firm
- Responsible
- Elegant
- Kind
On this note, a new season of Mistresses will be back this 30th May!!!!
2. THE GOOD WIFE
Every woman who dreams of becoming a lawyer will definitely be struck by awe watching Alicia Florrick (played by Julianna Margulies) rise in action in court. Like April from Mistresses, her husband cheated on her too who is unfortunately adored by many, as he is a major public figure.
The show depicts how Alicia – who had become a stay-at-home mother for 13 years after getting married – picks up where she left off in her legal career. After endless struggles and challenges, as well as having to sink and swim on the same level with associates much more junior than her, she finally manages to catch up in the legal marathon.
What I like about Alicia:
She’s
- Hardworking
- Fierce
- Independent
- Calm
3. MODERN FAMILY
In this hilarious TV series, Claire Dunphy (played by Julie Bowen) is a mother to 3 children and wife to a quirky husband. She’s truly the modern mom who’s pretty open-minded and your best friend. A little absent-minded, but she hasn’t lost her maternal instincts.
What I like about Claire:
She’s
- Bubbly
- Fun
- Loving
- Funny
4. BLACK-ISH
This is another super hilarious TV sitcom. It’s about an African-American family who upholds strongly the value of being…African-American. The mother, Rainbow Johnson (played by Tracee Ellis Ross) however is a little more liberal than the father when it comes to the embracement of this traditional value. Rainbow’s character is a perky working mom to 4 children – she’s a doctor – who lives life to the fullest and doesn’t take everything seriously.
What I like about Rainbow:
She’s
- Exemplary
- Hilarious
- High on Life
- Flexible
Can’t wait for the new season of Mistresses!
