Mommy Diaries Off Air

Maafkanku, Nak.

April 22, 2016

We all want to be the superhero mom. The perfect mother yang serba boleh.

Reality check please, I tell myself.

Sometimes, we do need help from around us. Whatever it takes for the baby, right? If you live or know someone with a small child, please support him/her emotionally, mentally and physically. Although it’s caring for a tiny being, a lot of energy and time is required.

My darling baby girl, I feel guilty when I’m not able to tend to you. I feel guilty when you cry helplessly.

I even feel guilty if you start getting rashes. “Am I doing something wrong?” I ask myself.

I feel guilty when I’m too sleepy and I don’t give my all. I’m trying my best, my darling. I know you know it.

With this post, I would like to share a writing of mine that I had submitted to an online acquaintance for her Instagram @advicetomychild:

Passion.

I never really knew what passion was til I had you. People say there’s no such thing, but I want you to know that it can exist in whatever you do. You’ll know it when you feel it.

My baby princess, you give me the passion to love unconditionally and to be joyous. The passion to struggle to give a good life to another being. The passion to care for God’s gift or what I call ‘Anugerah Teristimewah’ – a gift that is special and luxurious. The passion to never get bored.

I want you to find that passion as you grow up, while never forgetting to thank God for the opportunity to be in this world. By always seeking guidance from God, passion can give you great lessons. With passion, you will understand the true meaning of ‘beautiful’, which is often misconstrued by today’s culture. If you want to look for beautiful, look for a kind heart, for a righteous soul and for the truth.

I’ve acquired a number of passions throughout this great life, but the one that I adore the most is the passion of being your mother.
